For Educators
REAP will be piloting social studies curriculum in Calgary elementary schools during the 2007/08 school year. We believe that transformative education is needed if we are to accelerate our progress toward a sustainable future, so our curriculum will teach students to become responsible citizens, urge them to participate in the democratic process, and inspire them to support constructive change in their community, their society, and their world.
Our modular approach is based on the four principles of the Earth Charter - an international, non-governmental treaty for the creation of a more just, sustainable and peaceful world. These principles are:
