Sustainability Profile: Green City Motors

  1. What is your company's brand promise, vision or statement of values, and how does it relate to sustainability?

  2. Green City Motors serves Calgary and the surrounding communities in the sale and service of zero emissions electric bicycles and scooter-style Ebikes.

  7. How does your business minimize the environmental impact of its operations?

  8. At Green City Motors we take pride in reducing the business' environmental impact through several initiatives. We keep our weekly garbage disposal to 1 small bag per week. Nearly all of the packaging from our suppliers is composed of recyclable cardboard and other paper products.

During the renovations process, all store lighting fixtures were replaced with only "Energy Star" compliant lights and appliances. During business hours electricity is used sparingly and only when absolutely necessary.

In the future, Green City Motors will look to supplement power supply through the use of clean energy like wind and solar power.

The majority of administrative and day-to-day supplies are provided by "Only Green" and are either made of post-consumer materials or are compostable, or both. For example, we use biodegradable "bully bags" for garbage and use a traditional push mower for our lawn area. All of our staff ride our 0 emissions vehicles to and from the store.
