The Solar PV Equipment Pilot program is designed to provide financial support to legitimate farmers installing grid-connected, minimum 2.2 kW size, solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on their operation to produce electricity.

Current Alberta producers running an agricultural operation with a minimum $10,000 annual gross agricultural income and meeting eligibility for a farm fuel number are eligible to apply for the Solar Assessment and Solar PV Equipment Pilot program. The grant is for a maximum of $19,500.

To apply for this grant you must:

1) Apply to the Growing Forward program

2) Contact SkyFire Energy toll free at 1-877-593-4731 and speak with Dave Kelly about what size/type system you would like. He will then determine if a development and/or building permit is required and start that process as well as design and quote the system.

3) Complete the "Solar Assessment" application form that is required to get the grant.
