Presented by the Waterlution Hub with special guests Charles Blanc and Tristan Surtees of the art practice Sans façon in conjunction with The City of Calgary Public Art Program and Water Resources.
Introducing the Waterlution Calgary Hub!
The Waterlution Calgary Hub works to develop and nurture inspired communities of water action by hosting year-round capacity-building opportunities. Regular gatherings bring together water experts, stakeholders and the interested public to explore pertinent issues and creative solutions to regional water management questions. These innovative social events aim to inspire guests, while weaving knowledge on a relevant topic, provoking dialogue and facilitating action items. Each event is focused on a specific water theme, stimulated by featured “provocateurs” – leading mentors with insight to share.
Waterlution thanks its supporters for this pilot project: The RBC Blue Water Project, The Calgary Foundation, Alberta Ecotrust, and Nexen for their generous support of the Waterlution Calgary Hub.
Introducing the Sans facon!
The team of Sans façon began as an investigation between British artist, Tristan Surtees, and French architect, Charles Blanc, and has developed into an ongoing collaboration. Together since 2001, they have undertaken diverse projects, both temporary and permanent, as interventions, public works, publications and exhibitions - predominantly exploring the complex relationship between people and 'place'. Tristan and Charles are currently working on the Watershed+ Pilot Program, working full time from the Water Centre and embedded in Water Resources/Water Services core business.
